On Sunday and Monday, May 6th and 7th, 2013 Alfaparf Milano Creative Director Richard Thompson hosted a special VIP event and hands-on workshop with Alfaparf Milano distributor Salon Accessories.
Sunday evening, Salon Accessories invited several VIP salon owners and stylists to special sneak preview of the latest trends in cutting methodology, ideas and color placement with Thompson. The following day, stylists were able to master and replicate these techniques themselves in an exclusive hands-on class.
Attendees learned how any look can easily be changed with a different color selection or a modification of the cut to suit the facial shape, personality and desires of any client.
Richard Thompson is a famous worldwide creative director and the front man of MAHOGANY HAIRDRESSING. He was born in Manchester and began his career as a trainee at the exclusive James and Peter salon. At 21 he moved to London to work with the Vidal Sassoon organization, as Creative Director. Soon after, he opened his first salon, MAHOGANY, in Oxford. This is where Thompson's philosophy was shaped, which can be summarized in just one word: "listening." According to Richard it is essential to work in harmony with clients, looking together to find the solutions best suited to each of them. This is why he developed cutting and colouring techniques capable of setting off the customer's style and personality.
